“The 1 and only good guy who finishes first!”

LeBron James

Well, at least one good guy is finishing first, eh? I would recommend everyone check out the whole clip down below, as it is really quite fun to watch.

“A lot of people know me as the only guy who’s ever won four NBA Sportsmanship Awards,” Conley said. “I was Teammate of the Year a couple (of) times, sportsmanship it’s what I do. Bill Russell has what? 10 rings? And go down the line, Michael Jordan, Tom Brady. But how many people have four Sportsmanship awards? That just doesn’t happen.”

Conley thinks his good sportsmanship is actually an extension of his competitiveness. He also commended Grant Hill for winning the award thrice and added that he is now trying to win it six times.

Mike Conley The Good Guy

Conley won the NBA Sportsmanship Award this past season, for sole occupation of the top spot. He had previously won it in 2014, 2016, and 2019. The 35-year-old has only won Teammate of the Year once, though, in 2019, and it is doubtful he’ll manage to catch Jrue Holiday, who has won it in three of the last four years.

His teammates aren’t the only people whom he is nice to actually. Conley has played 1,103 games and never received a technical foul, which is incredible. In this day and age, when technicals are handed out like candy by officials, for him to still never receive one says something about who he is as a person.

As for his play on the court this past season, Conley averaged 14.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game after being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He still has gas left in the tank, not as much as LeBron, though.

LeBron James’ Preparation For The 2023-24 Season

LeBron will be entering his 21st season in the league in 2023-24, and the 38-year-old is ensuring his body is in the best possible shape ahead of it. Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka revealed James’ intense preparation for the 2023-24 season.

“It’s staggering for a player who has 20 years under the hood already and is preparing for 21 like he’s a rookie,” Pelinka said. “He’s been doing 6 a.m. workouts. Probably been in our building as much as any player this offseason. Been in the weight room as much as any player. Any team LeBron’s played for, it’s been pretty uniform that his work sets the tone.

“There has been nothing but an increase in seeing that here. To me, it’s let’s be about it, let’s not talk about it. He’s definitely been about it this offseason.”

LeBron has never been one to slack off. It is what enabled him to average 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game in 2022-23, and I fully expect him to dominate on the court this upcoming season.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely.
