After Kevin Durant once again stirred the pot by requesting a trade out of the Brooklyn Nets, everybody has had something to say about it. The 2x NBA champion waited until Kyrie Irving picked his player option this offseason to demand a trade and now will try to put himself in a winning position again.

NBA fans have big reactions to this. They are blasting Durant for running away from the grind, for the pressure he felt after the Golden State Warriors won the 2022 NBA championship, and more. KD has once again earned the hate of the NBA community, and fans won’t stop shading him now that he’s asked for a trade after signing an extension with the Nets.

One particular fan took to Twitter to break down a not-so-little difference between Kevin Durant and the player he’s always competed against, LeBron James. This fan recalls that every time LeBron has changed teams, he has delivered, and to this day, he hasn’t requested a trade.

And to be clear – this isn’t a shot at KD. There’s a tendency to downplay and normalize greatness, rounding up certain things while rounding down others. These kinds of events help cut through that bias. There’s levels to the game.

LeBron went to a 33-win Cavs team and a 35-win Lakers team – won rings with both, while honoring his contract. Durant went to a 1 seed, is again pushing for a 1 seed after signing an extension. Don’t want to hear these two ever compared again.

And to be clear – this isn’t a shot at KD. There’s a tendency to downplay and normalize greatness, rounding up certain things while rounding down others. These kinds of events help cut through that bias. There’s levels to the game.

Of course, this sparked a big debate, with other fans chiming on, defending LeBron or Durant.

So you're just gonna ignore all the moves Bron made LMFAO Bron stans act like bron went to a 33 win team made zero moves and won a chip or that he hasn't traded away half the Lakers squad twice 😂😂😂

Golden State was a completely different team. You act like he replaced Harrison Barnes and that's it. Or you act like he came to Golden State and Harrison Barnes moved to the bench while they got rid of Festus.

KD is determined to destroy his reputation again. I lost the little.respect I had on him. He should do what Lebron did in 2014 and 2018, take the challenge. But looks like.he's not that kind of guy.

— Purple Gold Forever 👑 (@CL830_Lakers) June 30, 2022

What will Bron fans say if KD joins LeBron in LA? Cos the Lakers were only a 30 win team so that means it would be OK right? Or it would be OK for Bron but not ok for KD?

— startingvbasketball (@startingvbasket) July 1, 2022

It don’t matter he made them win now teams. What team gets lebron and try not to build the best team around him ? Use your brain.

— 👑King_02 (@King0261049598) June 30, 2022

So what you're saying is he was a franchise player and a really good GM and that's a knock on him 🤔

Kevin Durant beat Lebron James in the NBA Finals. Carry-on

— Dre Day (@ddpage369) June 30, 2022

Did Nets not add Harden & Irving and he’s quitting? Also do not forgot the powerhouse roster KD was gifted for the first 5-6 years of his career to win nothing. LBJ dreamed of ever having any kind of talents like he did in CLE 1.0. All the poster said is finish the Jon don’t run

What nba star ever won on their own ? I’ll give u all day to answer

— . (@_jefe5) June 30, 2022

The Cavs in fact did not win 33 games the year before they won a championship nor did the Lakers win 35 games the year before. I didn’t realize that the only that changed was Lebron going to these teams and not the bevy of other pieces brought in around him but go off

— Fire Joe Mazulla (@UnbiasSp0rts) June 30, 2022

Please fool, LeBron joined Kyrie Irving, brought Kevin Love, and about a half dozen other guys w/ him to the Cavs. Lakers had a stacked roster of young players, they missed the playoffs, then turned them into AD, and brought in a slew of veterans.

— TW (@twhankin) July 1, 2022

you forget kd first year in Brooklyn? He left the 2nd yr lol.lebron 2nd yr they got AD with solid core pieces around them to win. Also if that was your team who won the bubble you wouldn’t be saying nothing lol.Don’t get salty now.All these recent championships had asterisks also

— ZeroSugar (@LaughingToken) June 30, 2022

LeBron James needs other star players to be better without getting doubled team Kevin Durant doesn't so you're right don't compare the two

Also if it wasn't for KYRIE"S late 3 Cleveland wouldn't have a 🏆 so don't @ me and get off his 🥜

— MafiaDragon29 (@MafiaDragon29) July 1, 2022

Jordan has more records…more championships..higher statistics and couldn't be stopped in today's league proven on the wizards team…and never left the ship when it was sinking to jump on another ship I don't wanna hear anymore comparisons with Lebron!!!

Lmao. What did LeBron do in LA his first season there?

— Josh (@josh111520) July 1, 2022

KD the only player that went to a team that beat him in the finals. Lebron didn't do that so this tweet has nothing but facts. Niggas in the comments trying to down Lebron and dickride KD. Hilarious

— Flaulis CEO♔FashoJ™ (@4ShoStl) July 1, 2022

Mannn cut it out he joined kyrie and added klove with great role players Durant is indeed a bxtch but stop using that previous record Vs cause that team was not the same team after he joined

— KEEPITREAL (@NwnbT) June 30, 2022

Don’t act like he didn’t have a plan to build a super team in both places

— Jacob (@JacobOrr21) June 30, 2022

Comparisons between LeBron and Durant are still a common thing in the NBA. Now that they’re both struggling to get things going with their teams and knowing that next season will be challenging for both, this won’t stop happening. Brace yourselves because the rest of this offseason and next campaign will be extremely entertaining for both LeBron and KD fans, as well as the rest of the league.
