Luke Walton To Luka Doncic: “Do Me A Favor, Give The Ref Your Autograph After The Game. He’s A Fan.”

2 Min Read

Luka Doncic and the Mavericks earned an easy win last night, romping the Kings by 19 points.

While the game itself wasn’t exactly a must-watch situation, Kings coach Luka Walton delivered a pretty nice one-liner that everyone is talking about. In the third quarter, clearly frustrated with the officiating, he turns to Luka Doncic and says this:

“Do me a favor, give the ref your autograph after the game. He’s a fan.”

Interestingly enough, the Kings actually attempted more free throws than the Mavericks last night, going 17-22 from the line while Dallas went 17-21. But, to Walton’s credit, Doncic was given 12 of those attempts.

While apparently good at delivering cute one-liners at referees, Walton has a lot of work to do if he wants to turn his team around. The Kings have struggled to stay consistent all year long. They have struggled to find a groove on the court and maintain their relationships off of it.

Dallas, meanwhile, is a piece or two away from becoming true contenders in the West. Led by Luka Doncic, they sit at 6th in the West and are expected to pose a real threat this postseason.

As for the ref who apparently wants Luka’s autograph, he’s going to have to get in line.
