The Phoenix Suns have made the first big move before the 2023-24 season, acquiring Bradley Beal in a trade from the Washington Wizards.
In the process, they let go of Chris Paul, who it was rumored would be either waived or moved by the Suns anyway. Reports now suggest that Paul might end up on the Los Angeles Clippers with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. And while that does sound like a superteam, one fan hilariously pointed out why it wouldn’t work.
After a Twitter page said, “Who’s stopping this squad?” with a picture of Paul, Leonard, and George, the fan responded, “Head, shoulders, knees, and toes.”

The Clippers have been ravaged by injury to their stars nearly every season since they put Paul George and Kawhi Leonard together in 2019. The one season both were healthy, they lost in the Western Conference Semifinals in 2020. This season was the perfect example of their issues, Paul George played no games, while Kawhi Leonard got injured after two.
Chris Paul as a player, has suffered from the injury curse in the playoffs arguably more than anyone else. The point guard famously got injured in the playoffs during his time with the Lob City Clippers before being unable to play for the Rockets in crucial Game 6 and Game 7 battles against the Golden State Warriors in 2019. He was injured for the Suns this postseason as well, and at 38, it’s hard to see him staying healthy for the long haul.
The Clippers Want A Chris Paul Reunion
Despite the obvious issues with injuries, Chris Paul is just what the Clippers have needed for years in terms of the player profile. The ultimate floor general, Paul dished out nearly nine assists a game last season despite being in decline; him getting the ball to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George sounds like a dream in theory.
As such, reports suggest that Paul has become a serious target for the Clippers after being moved to the Wizards. The expectation is that he will get bought out of his contract and then be free to sign a deal with a contender. He has only a couple more chances left to get a championship before retiring and it might just work out for the Clippers. However, the odds that all of them stay healthy are incredibly low.
