NBA fans were not keen on watching Zion Williamson slam a 360-degree dunk. And they had their reasons.

A video of the New Orleans Pelicans forward training at a gym went viral earlier this week, and while it was good to see Zion in action, a majority of the fans did not share the same view.

Here are some of the thoughts from fans [Please note that some of the comments are edited for the purpose of clarity].

“He always does this in the summer but also goes for missing 80 games in the regular season.”

“Then be playing 39 games.”

“He’s not healthy bro, look at his landing but who knows really.”

“Should be good for about 12 games next season.”

“Now do it in an actual NBA game.”

“Out for six weeks now.”

“I mean he looks healthy but how much impact can he’s knees take before they start failing…”

The criticism Zion gets isn’t totally unexpected. Despite the brimming potential and the talent that came into the NBA, he’s yet to complete an entire season. He’s not crossed more than 61 games in his four seasons in the league.

This season, he averaged 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 4.6 assists from 29 games and was ruled out with injury for the remainder of the season. The Pelicans also failed to make the playoffs.

Things Are Not Looking Great Between Zion Williamson And The New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson’s injury-marred run in the league, coupled with his latest controversy involving porn star Moriah Mills has strained his relationship with the New Orleans Pelicans.

According to Will Guillory of The Athletic, the team is dismayed with the forward, and their stormy relationship has further soured over the last few months. In fact, it was even reported that the team would reportedly move him before the NBA Draft.

“Still, even if Williamson isn’t moved before Thursday night, that is far from the end of this story. It’s only the beginning, as behind-the-scenes tensions between Williamson and the Pelicans have intensified over the past few months.”

It remains to be seen if Zion can turn it around this season, for whichever team he plays for.
