Chris Paul’s trade to the Golden State Warriors was one of the more unexpected moves in the ongoing NBA offseason, and on his part, Stephen Curry was happy to have the veteran point guard in the fold.

And he made it clear why Paul was an impactful addition to Golden State, even if it came at the cost of sacrificing young talent in Jordan Poole.

“Every team that CP has been on gets better. That’s the most consistent thing about him, who he is, and what he brings to the team. Everybody’s going to talk about age. It’s on us to put that all together and figure out how all the pieces work.”

In addition to calling the business “crazy”, Curry also opined how it was a blow losing Poole and how it was just business in the league at the end of the day.

“You hate losing JP. I know it’s not all the way official yet. So I don’t want to talk too much before it is. But that’s the tough part of the business, seeing a young guy come into his own (and then get traded). It’s a great opportunity for him. It’s just you get to know someone like that, build a friendship, build a bond. It’s tough to see him go. But, you know, we’re trying to win next year and CP can help us do that.”

For now, the Warriors will also look at re-signing Draymond Green who earlier opted out of his contract. With a seasoned veteran in Paul in the mix, the side will have the aging superstars attempt to run it back, perhaps one last time.

Chris Paul Explains His Relationship With Stephen Curry

The chemistry between teammates matters and Chris Paul kept it real on his relationship with his new teammate, Stephen Curry. And while he didn’t say much, his brief phrase comes as a promise of good news.

“It was good [my first talk with Curry],” Paul said. “Yeah.”

The duo might be longtime rivals, but if there was ever a time to let bygones be bygones, then it’s now. For starters, the Warriors core might be playing together for the last time, and that would mean bagging one more ring. While for CP3, it’s a chance to win his maiden title.

There’s an opportunity for both parties to work together and create history. And only time will tell if they can indeed do that.
