Chris Paul is set to play for his sixth team in the NBA after the Golden State Warriors acquired his services from the Washington Wizards in a blockbuster trade that sent Jordan Poole to D.C.

After this move was completed, everybody wanted to know Paul’s sentiments about it, and the player seems to be still processing it. Talking about his new partnership with long-time rival Stephen Curry, Paul admitted he talked with Curry, but didn’t get into much detail.

“It was good [my first talk with Curry],” Paul said. “Yeah.”

Knowing that he’s likely to have a different role on the Warriors, CP3 made it clear he’s ready to put in the work to get wins and contribute to the team however he can.

Paul has been one of the best players in the league for a while now. Not many players are as impactful as him, and the Dubs are well aware of that. Even with a sixth-man role next season, he can thrive and help this team reach new levels.

Even without Draymond Green on the lineup, the Dubs have a solid team that can make noise in the West.

During his 18-season career, the so-called ‘Point God’ has averaged 17.9 points, 9.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals per outing in 1,214 regular-season games. CP3 is 38 right now, but nobody doubts that he can bring good things to the table now that he’s on the Warriors.

Chris Paul Is ‘Excited’ To Join The Warriors

He knows this is a good situation too, and recently shared his excitement about the chance of sharing touches with incredible players at Chase Center.

“I’m excited, I’m grateful like I said,” Paul told Lindsay Czarniak. “To get an opportunity to play with that core group of players: Steph, Klay, Draymond, Looney, Wiggs, all of them, play for Steve … So, I definitely want to get on the phone and talk to those guys and whatnot and see what’s what.”

Four years after Warriors players called out his name following a playoff series, Paul is now joining them, set to win that elusive NBA championship. The Dubs are still good, but they need to make more moves to be championship-ready ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

This can be a great pick or a total disaster depending on how Jordan Poole fares in Washington and if Paul can’t help the Warriors reach the next level. Time will tell, but as of right now, this is a very intriguing move.
