In yet another disappointing performance, the Los Angeles Lakers lost once again to the LA Clippers. This was the final game of the season series, and the Clippers were able to comfortably complete the season sweep of the Lakers. And one moment from the game has caught the attention of fans, as Westbrook took some unnecessary measures to stop Reggie Jackson.
Reggie Jackson was being guarded by his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Russell Westbrook. The two have had a contentious history but now play for two eternal rivals in LA. Jackson was attacking and crossed up Westbrook pretty hard. In an attempt to stop Jackson from getting ahead, Westbrook stuck his foot out to intentionally trip Reggie Jackson.NBA

NBA fans reacted to this footage, mostly condemning Russ for the dangerous move. Most of them pointed out that the trip was probably a move that was brought upon by Reggie and Westbrook’s poor relationship.

Clearly, fans were not happy about the trip. It was an uncalled-for move from Westbrook, whether it was intentional or not. Luckily, Reggie Jackson did not get hurt by the move and was able to keep control of the ball despite the trip. It was truly surprising to see the move go unpunished by the referees.
Westbrook and Jackson were teammates in OKC, where Jackson served as the back-up guard behind Westbrook. A big part of Jackson leaving OKC was him not getting consideration to start over Westbrook. And their relationship was quite strained during their stint together because they were constantly competing with each other.
Jackson will be glad that he got a measure of revenge over the former MVP. On top of that, Jackson and the Clippers have beaten Westbrook and the Lakers 4 times this season. So as things stand, Jackson has gotten the better of his former teammate.
