This NBA season hurtles towards two possible outcomes — one where LeBron James would win his fifth ring, or Jimmy Butler winning his first.

Well, there’s a possibility that neither of the above may happen, but Twitter was given a chance to pick between the two potential results. And safe to say the responses saw fans torn between the two superstars.

One of the fans wanted Butler to win the championship.

This was seconded by another who said:

LeBron James fans weren’t far away as they rooted for him to win his fifth title.

Some felt it wouldn’t be his last ring, as the debate suggested.

For some, it was about James’ legacy.

Butler fans still believed he needed one for his scintillating efforts this season.

For now, it’s even-steven when it comes to both players winning rings respectively. And to their credit, both stars have played incredibly well to get their teams to where they are in the playoffs.

Can Jimmy Butler And LeBron James Lead Their Respective Teams To Victory?

To begin with, the Miami Heat have been a dominant force this season predominantly due to Butler’s pyrotechnics. The ongoing playoffs have him averaging 31.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists and he was instrumental in leading the Heat to win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

And on his part, he’s optimistic that this is the Heat’s year to win a championship. “This year is our year,” said Butler, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. “We’re going to go into this Game 1 and do what we’re supposed to do and be the first one to four. We are very capable of it. We have enough. The Guys are playing some incredible basketball. I like our chances, as does everyone in this organization.”

In the meantime, James has been crucial for the Lakers with his dog and experience. And while they do trail 0-1 against the Denver Nuggets, they cannot be written off just yet.
