Joel Embiid has been a polarizing player during his entire NBA career, but this year, the player has been on the receiving end of criticism more than ever.

After the Philadelphia 76ers lost Game 3 of the Boston Celtics series, the big man was quick to call out his teammates, saying that they need to show up during these games.

Many fans disliked these comments and were quick to respond to Embiid, telling him he was responsible too.

Others speculated about Embiid calling out James Harden.

Somebody said this proved he was an undeserving MVP.

Embiid knows this season is very important for him and the Sixers as they try to at least come out of the second round of the playoffs. Without James Harden providing the necessary help, Philly will have a hard job to carry out.

They need to make adjustments ahead of Game 4, or the Celtics will go back home with a 3-1 advantage. This is a crucial game for them, and they need to be atop of their game to challenge the defending Eastern Conference champions.

Philadelphia 76ers Are Down 1-2 Against Boston Celtics

This was a painful loss to the Sixers. On the same night, the league presented Joel Embiid with the MVP award, his team couldn’t get the job done. Now, they need to get one more win to even the series and have more chances heading to Boston.

Philadelphia started the postseason looking great, eliminating the Brooklyn Nets even without Joel Embiid in Game 4. Now, things are different, as the Celtics are a much better rival that will do anything to stop them from winning.

Embiid is locked in, but the rest of the team needs to catch up if they want to win. This series can be one of the most intense of the playoffs or a total disappointment.
