Zion Williamson and Ja Morant were the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. They have both shown that they are top-tier offensive players when they are on the court. They were also once on the same AAU team.
A video of the two talking during the recent Grizzlies – Pelicans matchup went viral on Twitter, with many fans wondering what was said between the two. Some even suggested that Zion Williamson was coming to the Memphis Grizzlies. Notably, during that same game, cameras caught Zion Williamson’s reaction to Ja Morant’s monster block, and it’s clear that Zion Williamson respects Ja Morant’s ability.

It is highly unlikely that the New Orleans Pelicans decide to trade Zion Williamson, as he is clearly a future superstar. They are also a team that is developing a winning culture under coach Willie Green currently, and trading Zion Williamson would hinder that goal. However, if the Memphis Grizzlies were to get Zion Williamson and put him next to Ja Morant, that would give them an electric star duo both of whom have insane athleticism and skill. The Grizzlies would become even more exciting than they already are.
Both Zion Williamson and Ja Morant have really bright futures ahead of them. Their teams both have great young cores, and it’ll be exciting to see what they accomplish during their careers. Zion Williamson has not played this season, but he should make the New Orleans Pelicans a dangerous team next season. Meanwhile, Ja Morant has played a huge role in the Memphis Grizzlies becoming a contender. Hopefully, we are able to continue to see the two stars blossom, and there’s a good chance that Zion Williamson and Ja Morant will be considered as faces of the league at some point in the future
