Superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo recently signed a three-year, $186 million contract extension to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks long-term. There’s no doubt that this is good news for Bucks fans, and the team is certainly geared to compete for a championship in the near future.

After the extension announcement, a lot of fans took to Twitter to share their reactions regarding Antetokounmpo’s contract extension. One fan suggested that the league is worried about this development.

Another fan claimed that this extension was a huge win for the Bucks.

One person pointed out that Antetokounmpo needs to hope that Damian Lillard ends up working out for the Bucks given his long-term commitment to the franchise.

There was a fan who stated their belief that Antetokounmpo would stay with the Bucks for the rest of his career.

Some roasted the Bucks for giving Antetokounmpo the extension given the superstar’s limited ability to score outside the paint.

There were some who speculated that Antetokounmpo would demand a trade at some point in his current contract.

One account marveled at the fact that Antetokounmpo would be getting $62 million annually but noted that he deserves that number.

It will be interesting to see how Antetokounmpo ends up doing over the course of his extension. He is clearly in his prime right now and is still one of the most dominant superstars in the league.

This past regular season, Antetokounmpo averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game for the Bucks. The Bucks clearly believe that the superstar can lead them to another championship in the future, and we’ll see whether that ends up happening.

Damian Lillard Is Hyped To Play With Giannis Antetokounmpo

It is fair to say that Antetokounmpo is the best player that Lillard will have played with during his entire career. In fact, Lillard previously spoke on playing with Antetokounmpo, calling him a “cheat code”.

“So, it’s just different because it was like, that’s a cheat code. To just be able to throw a ball up and have somebody be coordinated enough to hold his guy off, go up, catch it, come down on balance, go up and no dribble, no step and dunk it, you know, over people. So, I mean, it’s … it’s definitely different, man.”

It is clear that Lillard is already impressed with what Antetokounmpo brings to the table. It will certainly be interesting to see how Antetokounmpo fits with Lillard once the regular season starts, but the two have already shown some glimpses of their chemistry in the preseason.

The Bucks Should Be Considered Favorites In The Eastern Conference

From a talent perspective, it is fair to say that the Bucks should be considered the favorites to make the Finals from the Eastern Conference. They paired two superstar-caliber players in Antetokounmpo and Lillard and still have a supporting cast that features Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez.

Of course, there are other elite teams in the East that the Bucks will have to get through to win the championship. The Boston Celtics ended up trading for Jrue Holiday themselves, and other teams, such as the Philadelphia 76ers and the Miami Heat, are still in the picture.

Hopefully, we see the Bucks find success in the future. They clearly can win a championship, but rings aren’t won on paper. The team will have to stay healthy going into next season and finish with a good regular season record to get home-court advantage.
