Besides the Kevin Durant saga, the Brooklyn Nets are trying to find a solution to the Kyrie Irving situation that has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Following KD’s decision to request a trade from the team, the Nets have gotten to work to find a new place for the 2x NBA champion but also for Irving.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been mentioned as the favorite team to land Kyrie, but nothing is official right now. There have been many reports about this situation, and recent ones suggest that the Lakers will get rid of Russell Westbrook to make room for Irving.

Right now, everybody is trying to get the best information about this, including insiders trying to reveal more details about what could happen to Kyrie and the Lakers soon. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was in attendance for the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Phoenix Suns in the Summer League, and he had the chance to talk with people with privileged information.

Woj was seen speaking to Lakers GM Rob Pelinka as well as head coach Darvin Ham. After that, he was spotted talking to Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports Group.

It’s unclear what was said during these conversations, but it’s pretty clear that Woj wants to know the same thing we all want to.

During an appearance on ‘NBA Today’, the senior insider touched on this situation, saying that the Nets and Lakers have held talks about this, but Brooklyn wants to see what they can do with Kevin Durant first and then handle the Kyrie situation.

“The two teams did touch base but Brooklyn’s focus right now is seeing if there is a deal to be made for KD… Before they might move forward to get engaged with L.A”

We’ll probably don’t know what Woj discussed with Pelinka and Paul, but it must be something juicy. The Lakers are considered the favorites to land Kyrie this offseason, and even though the trade looks hard to complete now, they could find a solution to get rid of Russell Westbrook while trading for Kyrie.
