There is no doubt that the race for the Western Conference playoffs this season has been heated, and it seems that no team is better than the other. However, there could be teams in the future that separate themselves from the pack.

In this episode of the Fadeaway World podcast, Lee Tran and Nico Martinez discuss the rise of the Memphis Grizzlies. Nico believes that the Memphis Grizzlies can become a dynasty in the Western Conference. (21:22)

Nico Martinez: I think with these two teams (Grizzlies-Warriors), it’s about the passing of the torch… The Grizzlies, No.1 in the West, it’s kind of looking like the start of a dynasty for them. This game is kind of like a turning of a page into a new era. End of the Warriors era, into the Grizzlies era… I think they’ve been taking over the Warriors’ spot as the team to beat… What they’ve been able to do without Desmond Bane… Right now, Memphis is the team to beat out there in the West.

Lee Tran: As you said, they’re without Desmond Bane, who is currently having a breakout season. He is putting up some good numbers, 25/5/5 (rounding up), with some good 3PT shooting. How good can they be when he comes back? Because that’s an All-Star right there.

It remains to be seen if the Memphis Grizzlies do end up establishing themselves as a dynasty team in the Western Conference. Hopefully, they are able to win at least one championship during the Ja Morant era.
