Bow Wow recently delivered one of the funniest and most surprising stories about Michael Jordan during his appearance on Club Shay Shay, and it revealed a side of the basketball legend fans rarely see.

According to the rapper and actor, Jordan’s legendary trash talk doesn’t stop when the final buzzer sounds; it continues at home, in private settings, and even with close family friends. And in Bow Wow’s case, it has followed him since he was a kid, centered around two things: his height and his sneakers.

“Every Scream tour, I stayed at the house. The house that they just sold, I would always stay there. And how we met was, we didn’t even meet during Like Mike. I told you I’m a big Duke fan. That’s a North Carolina, that’s a Tar Heel house.”

“I wore Reeboks to the house. I wore some Iversons. That was my guy. After Marcus’ dad retired, AI was my man. It’s at the break, I just saw me. So I’m in the house with the Iversons. I wake up, me and Marcus in his room, we wake up in the morning. I just see that door crack open like a father, like a real dad.”

“Hey, who bulls***s these?” And Marcus looking like, I don’t even, you already know. Don’t even look at me. It’s Jumpman forever. I’m on the floor asleep. He like, ‘These yours, pal?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ ‘Shit’s going in the trash.’

“John Michael, man, get little man some kicks. I never saw my Iversons ever again. Marcus threw my Iversons away. Gone. That was my introduction. And ever since then, anytime you see me, it’s, short shit.”

“When you going to grow some inches, short shit? You still short as shit. Look at you. You ain’t going to grow.” He always going to pop it. He going to pop it.”

Bow Wow explained to Shannon Sharpe that he used to spend a lot of time at the Jordan household, particularly during the peak of the Scream Tour era. He regularly stayed at the mansion recently sold by the Jordans and grew up close to MJ’s sons, especially Marcus Jordan

But the first real introduction Bow Wow had to His Airness wasn’t exactly warm and fuzzy, it was vintage Michael Jordan, filled with sarcasm, brand loyalty, and a brutal sense of humor.

From that moment on, Bow Wow’s relationship with Michael Jordan came with a side of relentless trash talk. And not just about sneakers. The Hall of Famer made a habit of clowning Bow Wow’s height every time they crossed paths.

It’s the kind of banter only Michael Jordan could get away with, sharp, personal, and delivered with a smirk. And it proves that his competitiveness and dominance extend far beyond the basketball court. Whether it’s destroying you in a playoff game, lecturing you about brand loyalty, or mocking your growth spurt that never came, MJ is always in control of the room.

To this day, Bow Wow says Jordan never lets up. No matter the setting, the respect, or the familiarity, MJ keeps the same energy: full throttle. And for Bow Wow, it’s all love, even if it comes with endless jokes about his height and a lifetime ban from Reebok inside the Jumpman empire.
