Hall of Fame coach George Karl recently voiced his desire for NBA legend Michael Jordan to publicly endorse Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the upcoming U.S. elections. Karl took to X (formerly Twitter) to make his case, comparing the influence Jordan wields to that of pop star Taylor Swift, who recently made headlines for her own political endorsements.

“I want Michael to publicly endorse Kamala Harris. It’s Taylor Swift big and will send North Carolina over the top. Which will be key to winning the Election.”

Karl’s call for Jordan’s endorsement is part of his broader effort to promote Harris’s campaign. Earlier this month, Karl organized a “Hoops for Harris” Zoom call on September 4, which included various pro-Harris NBA figures. The event was aimed at mobilizing support for Harris and spreading awareness of her campaign among basketball fans and the broader public.

Karl has been outspoken about his political beliefs, and this isn’t the first time he’s linked political outcomes to broader societal influences. Recently, he posted about how former President Donald Trump’s legacy could ironically lead to a more united America, suggesting that Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement might be realized under Kamala Harris’s leadership.

Karl believes that Michael Jordan, being a North Carolina native and one of the most influential figures in sports, could have a powerful effect on Harris’s chances in the state. North Carolina is a pivotal battleground, and a public endorsement from Jordan, much like Taylor Swift’s political advocacy, could sway voters and give Harris a crucial advantage in the state.

Michael Jordan’s Daughter Endorses Kamala Harris For President

Jasmine Jordan, the daughter of basketball legend Michael Jordan, has been vocal in her support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race. As Harris steps into the role of the Democratic Party’s nominee, replacing Joe Biden, many NBA-related figures, including Jasmine, have expressed their endorsement.

Jasmine Jordan has been actively promoting Harris on social media, especially during the first presidential debate where Harris made her case against Donald Trump. Recently, Jasmine took to Instagram to remind her followers about the approaching election, with just 47 days left to go. Her post continues to emphasize her strong support for Harris as she has shared her excitement and approval of the Vice President’s debate performance.

Jasmine Jordan has followed in her father’s footsteps by maintaining a strong presence in the sports world. A sports management graduate from Syracuse, she worked for the Charlotte Hornets, where her father owns the team, before joining the Jordan Brand as a field representative. In her role, she has successfully recruited several WNBA players to the brand, showcasing her influence in the sports industry.

Jasmine isn’t the only one connected to the NBA who is backing Harris. Michael Jordan’s former teammate, Steve Kerr, has also endorsed the Vice President.

Kerr recently showed his support during the Democratic National Convention at the United Center, where he once won three NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls. Kerr, known for his advocacy on political issues such as gun control and his opposition to Donald Trump, is an ardent supporter of Harris.

With Jasmine Jordan, Kerr, and other prominent figures like Stephen Curry behind her, Kamala Harris is gaining significant momentum within the sports world as the 2024 election approaches.
