The Los Angeles Lakers have finally made a trade this Monday, sending a player that didn’t play that well for them in exchange for one young player that could bring a lot of things to the table for the struggling Purple and Gold.

Amid a lot of rumors suggesting they would stay quiet ahead of the upcoming trade deadline, the Lakers are now confirming that they still want to compete this season, which is why they made a big move with the Washington Wizards in hopes of improving their level.

When Kyle Kuzma was heavily linked with them, the 17-time NBA champions took a different direction and went for another forward whose future was pretty much out of the team.

Washington Wizards Send Rui Hachimura To Los Angeles Lakers

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Rui Hachimura is on his way to Los Angeles after the Lakers and Wizards completed a move that will send Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks to the capital team.

The Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing a trade sending guard Kendrick Nunn and three second-round picks to the Washington Wizards for Rui Hachimura, sources tell.

This move comes after Hachimura called out the Wizards for not letting him do his thing on the court and claiming that he wanted to be where he was appreciated for his talents.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN adds that the Wizards couldn’t agree on a rookie extension with Rui, which opened the door for the Lakers while giving Washington a chance to re-sign Kyle Kuzma long-term.

Now, the Japanese player is on his way to L.A., as the Lakers need a player like him to score behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis when the latter returns from injury.

Hachimura is currently averaging 13.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, but he’s coming off a 30-point game, which makes the Lakers dream about how great this player can be for them.

The Purple and Gold come from beating the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers, so perhaps their two good moments can do wonders for both parties.
