After speculation from fans about Shaquille O’Neal‘s potential new girlfriend, Shaq took to Instagram to set the record straight. Shaq posted a reel on Instagram showing off multiple interactions with women, many of which were in a similar pose to the one in the viral pic people speculated he was in, and claimed that people would know who his girlfriend was when he wanted them to.

“Is this my girlfriend too? Trust me, I’ll let y’all know who my woman is, and by the way, my woman’s name is Shaqirah.”

Shaq clearly saw the speculation about him after a post suggesting he was the man in the picture went viral. O’Neal isn’t shy about speaking of his personal life, but it couldn’t have been flattering seeing speculation, and even slander aimed his way for something that would not be true.

O’Neal doesn’t have any obligation to speak about his relationship status or reveal the identity of his significant other if he doesn’t want to. Fan speculation on these matters is expected, but that doesn’t mean that it is acceptable. While Shaq, along with many other former and current NBA stars are celebrities, they are entitled to their privacy.

Shaq has focused on his media responsibilities, and done a very good job with that. His podcast, along with his appearances on Inside The NBA, have elevated Shaq in the NBA media space, making him one of the most prominent personalities in the space.

Shaquille O’Neal Goes After Rudy Gobert Once Again

Shaquille O’Neal has spoken about Rudy Gobert quite a few times in the last few weeks. Recently, during an appearance on Complex’s GOAT Talk, O’Neal called Gobert the worst NBA player of all time. O’Neal has long been a vocal critic of Rudy Gobert and didn’t miss the chance to take a shot at him.

O’Neal then slammed Gobert once again recently for putting Joel Embiid’s head between his legs during the 2024 Olympics gold medal game. While Shaq has given reasons for his criticism of Gobert over the years, it has never really been clear why Shaq is so insistent on going after Gobert whenever he gets the chance.

Shaq has had a history of going after players from the younger generations, as he used to do so during Inside The NBA when it came to Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee. While it often leads to entertaining comments, some have accused Shaq of being a bit of a bully to the younger players in the league.

O’Neal is unlikely to stop his comments against Gobert, as he has been doing this for a long time, and doesn’t have a reason to stop. While Gobert pushed back on Shaq’s recent comments, O’Neal hasn’t faced any major consequences for his words, and therefore, has no real concerns about the issues his words might generate.
