Chet Holmgren is already making noise around the NBA world. He’s expected to be a high pick in the 2022 NBA draft, with plenty of people excited to see what he’ll do in the big leagues.
One of those is Skip Bayless, who actually has nice words for this kid. Contrary to what he does with other players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, or Luka Doncic, Bayless is very fond of Chet, having many expectations for the 19-year-old.
“This will be the best white American player since Larry Bird. 7-ft-1, moves like a guard, jumps out of the gym, can shoot pull-up threes, but also dominates the paint blocking shots,” Bayless said, per Crossed Sports.
This is not the only time that the Fox Sports analyst praised the Gonzaga player. After he committed to play for the Bulldogs, the 69-year-old couldn’t hide his excitement, even claiming that Holmgren would take his team to win their first college national championship.
Gonzaga finally won its first national championship w this recruiting class led by Chet Holmgren. Never seen anything quite like him – a long 7-1 w guard range/handle who plays w the edge of former teammate Jalen Suggs. Probable No. 1 overall in '22. Congrats, Zags.

We don’t know his ceiling, but Holmgren has already shown interesting things to believe he can have a good NBA career. Of course, he has things to work on, especially his body, but this man can be a threat in the NBA if he can achieve that.
Keep an eye on this guy because he can do exciting things, as shown during the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Latvia.
