Reggie Miller Says Damian Lillard Is Not A Good Fit With LeBron James: “He Is An Isolation One-On-One, High Pick-And-Roll Player.”

While a lot of people want to see LeBron James joining forces with Damian Lillard on the Los Angeles Lakers, others aren’t convinced that the two stars can mesh well regardless of how generous LeBron is.

Reggie Miller is one of those, as he recently explained why Lillard joining James on the Lakers is a bad idea. Rumors about the point guard going to L.A. surfaced as soon as his Portland Trail Blazers were eliminated from the 2021 NBA playoff. Those rumors haven’t stopped, and the Lakers appear to be a very likely landing spot for the All-Star.

Miller, however, doesn’t believe this would be a good move. In a recent edition of ‘The Dan Patrick Show,’ the Indiana Pacers legend explained why he wouldn’t trade Anthony Davis for Dame. Reggie believes that Lillard’s style of play won’t be a good fit with James (11:18).

“Absolutely not. As much as I love Damian Lillard, Lillard has to have the balls in his hands to be successful. That’s what made him great. Isolation one-on-one, high pick-and-roll player. For Lebron, what he’s done throughout his career, needs the ball to be successful. I don’t think they would play well off one another.”

Furthermore, Miller said he would trade for a Trail Blazers star if he had the chance, but not Dame.

“CJ McCollum would be great on the Lakers with LeBron,” the sharpshooter added.

CJ has been Lillard’s sidekick in Portland, but it doesn’t seem like he’s enough to help the point guard take this team to the promised land. This offseason will present a lot of questions to the Blazers. Dame’s future is more uncertain than ever, and they want to put all the rumors to rest. Can they do it? Time will tell…
