The New York Knicks have found their head coach in Tom Thibodeau. Now, they have to follow up by finding their star.

This summer will be a unique free-agency period given COVID-19 and how it has affected the NBA, but the Knickerbockers are hoping to make it work for them so they finally start their ascent in the Eastern Conference.

And, according to Marc Berman of The New York Post, they already have two potential targets in mind: Chris Paul of the OKC Thunder and Pacers youngster Victor Oladipo.

While Rose, the Knicks rookie president, has [Chris] Paul on his trade radar, putting together a package for younger Pacers’ guard Victor Oladipo is expected to be a higher priority, according to NBA officials.

The later has already denied the rumors that he wants to leave Indiana and there is no indication the team will be willing to trade him in the offseason.

Still, if anybody has a chance to get him, it’s the Knicks. As they continue to remake their identity, they’ve got the assets and motive to get a potential deal done and could finally have enough pull to keep hi in town for the foreseeable future.

Vic’s arrival would not make them instant contenders in the East, but it would mark a step in the right direction. The 2x All-Star has career number of 17.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game on 44% shooting.
