NBA Trade Rumors: Sixers “Unmoved” By Malcolm Brogdon And Caris LeVert

A few years ago, Ben Simmons was considered one of the most valuable assets in the league. As a young and promising star with plenty of talent, he was coveted by nearly every team in the association.

Recently, however, Simmons’ value and reputation as a player have taken an enormous hit. After an embarrassing performance in the 2021 playoffs, Simmons quit on the Sixers, and teams have been hesitant to pay the price.

Finally, after months of negotiations, the Sixers have encountered their first serious suitor — the Indiana Pacers. Unfortunately, their highest offer (which apparently includes Caris LeVert and Malcolm Brogdon) does not appear to be of any interest to Daryl Morey.

The Indiana Pacers are reportedly a “legitimate suitor” for Ben Simmons, but the trade offers might not be enough to sway the Philadelphia 76ers to make a deal, according to NBA reporter Marc Stein.

“Indications persist, though, that Philadelphia has been unmoved by the Pacers’ ability to offer Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert as the headliners of a trade package,” Stein wrote.

Despite how low Simmons’ value currently lies, the Sixers apparently still have their eyes set on acquiring a big-name star like Damian Lillard.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers are considered other potential options for Simmons, while the 76ers still have their eye on landing Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, per Stein.

This whole situation has gotten rather bizarre. Simmons, who still has multiple years left on his contract, doesn’t have much leverage in this situation, yet seems willing to forgo millions in an effort to force Philly’s hand.

The Sixers, meanwhile, are hindering their own success as this whole standoff continues, but they remain firm in their desire to acquire a high-profile name.

At some point, somebody has got to give. Who will be first?
