John Collins is a promising young big man who is known for his athleticism near the rim and his outside shooting. There's no doubt that he is a versatile big man that could thrive in a bigger role than he has had on the Hawks recently.

Shams Charania of The Athletic has recently reported that Kings GM Monte McNair has had conversation with the Hawks about a potential John Collins trade. The Sacramento Kings notably have the No. 4 pick in this year's NBA Draft, but it seems as though there have been no discussions between the two teams about trading the No. 4 pick in a potential Collins trade.

Sacramento general manager Monte McNair has engaged in conversations around Hawks forward John Collins — among a slew of other established, productive players in the market — but there has been no involvement of the No. 4 pick in the discussions centered on Collins, and McNair will ultimately make the decision on the pick, according to sources.

John Collins would potentially be a good fit on the Sacramento Kings next to stars Domantas Sabonis and De'Aaron Fox. He would be able to space the floor for both of them, and his athleticism and rim protection would be helpful next to Domantas Sabonis. Overall, it is easy to see why the Sacramento Kings would be targeting him, and we'll see if they are able to get him. The team is clearly trying to make moves to win, and perhaps they could be a play-in or playoff team in the Western Conference next season.

There have been other teams that have been linked with John Collins though, so the Sacramento Kings would certainly have some competition for his services. It was reported that the Atlanta Hawks could potentially include him in a package for Rudy Gobert previously. We'll see who ends up getting him on their roster, and if the Sacramento Kings do get John Collins, they will be in a good spot for next year.
