League Executives Believe Wizards Should Trade Bradley Beal As Soon As Possible

1 Min Read

Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards are in an uncertain position. With John Wall’s health still a matter of concern and the roster still lacking depth, it doesn’t seem as though the team is on track to reverse their current trajectory.

Which is why, according to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, people around the league believe Washington should trade Bradley Beal as soon as possible.

As a young All-Star shooter at his peak, Beal is not only the Wizards’ best player, he’s their most valuable trade asset. In an article we published earlier this month, we detailed several potential trade partners, including Denver, New Orleans, Miami, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn.

Needless to say, trading him would grant the team significant compensation that they could use for a rebuild.

Either way, the clock is on for them to make a decision. If he declines his player option, Beal would be eligible for free-agency in the summer of 2022 where he will, undoubtedly, seek a new max deal.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Wizards decide to do in the weeks and months ahead.
