For the past five years, the Golden State Warriors have enjoyed unprecedented dominance. With five-straight Finals appearances and three NBA Championships, they were near unstoppable for most of their run.
But if there was one moment they could pick above the rest, what would they choose?
No, it’s not their first title victory in 2015 or their 73rd regular-season win in 2016. Instead, Steve Kerr said their greatest moment came against the Rockets back in the 2015 Western Conference Finals.
“For me, the moment was when we beat Houston in the West Finals in 2015. We had maybe a 12-point lead with about 45 seconds left, and I was standing up near halfcourt, kind of leaning against the scorer’s table.
There was a dead ball, and that was the moment when we realized we were going to win, the crowd realized it, our team realized it. And I just soaked it all in, I remember just looking (at) the entire panoramic view around Oracle and just soaking it all. It was such an incredible moment to be heading back to the Finals for the first time in 40 years,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game.

Indeed, that was a turning point for the Dubs. Up until then, the franchise had suffered from decades of irrelevancy and subpar performances. But with Curry, Klay, Draymond, and Kerr, they would go on to make history as one of the NBA’s great dynasties.
Even though their best days may be behind them, it’s good to know they stopped and smelled the roses on the way.
