The Los Angeles Lakers ended their three-game losing streak by defeating the San Antonio Spurs 119-101, improving their record to 11-7 on the season. The Lakers currently hold the No. 6 seed and beat a Spurs team on a four-game win streak, staying No. 10 in the West with a 10-9 record.

The Lakers roster finally locked in on defense after repeated criticisms from head coach JJ Redick, holding the Spurs to 36-85 from the field.

Seven players scored in double digits, led by Dalton Knecht’s 20 points (8-15 FG) and eight rebounds. LeBron James notched a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists while Anthony Davis had 19 points (8-14 FG) and 14 rebounds. D’Angelo Russell (17 PTS), Rui Hachimura (16 PTS), Austin Reaves (13 PTS), and Max Christie (12 PTS) all had great games.

“JJ finally used his common sense tonight I see. Leave Dalton Knecht in the damn starting lineup. I guess common sense ain’t that common no more,” said Kendrick Perkins about the impact that Dalton Knecht has had this season.

“LeBron James just put up the most washed triple-double you’ll ever see,” said one fan unimpressed with LeBron’s performance.

“I’m just glad I won’t be mad thinking about a Lakers loss at the Thanksgiving table tomorrow,” said one fan who can go into Thanksgiving without worrying about the Lakers.

“Dalton Knecht is a huge reason why the Lakers aren’t an under .500 team. Insane to say but it’s a fact,” said one fan ecstatic about Dalton Knecht’s impact.

“If Knecht remains the starter he comfortably wins ROTY IMO,” said another fan wanting Knecht to be on course for ROTY.

The Spurs were led by Victor Wembanyama‘s 20 points (9-20 FG), 10 rebounds, two steals, and three blocks in the loss. Julian Champagnie had 18 points (6-12 FG) and five rebounds while Harrison Barnes put up 19 points (6-10 FG). Devin Vassell had 14 points (5-10 FG) while rookie Stephon Castle had 10 points (3-9 FG).

San Antonio simply didn’t have the offensive versatility they needed to attack the Lakers. Their offense coming out of the post worked in the Lakers’ favor, as there weren’t many dynamic perimeter options who could consistently punish the Lakers’ poor POA defenders. Failing to exploit their defensive weaknesses led to this one-sided loss for the Spurs.

The Spurs will play next on December 1 against the Sacramento Kings in a consequential battle for the Play-In race. The Lakers host the No. 1 seed OKC Thunder at the Crypto.com Arena on November 29.
