Nick Nurse was one of the best coaching candidates available in the lead-up to the offseason. He won the 2019 championship with the Toronto Raptors and has made a reputation for himself as a coach with creative defensive schemes.
Even though we saw Nick Nurse leave the Toronto Raptors, it seems as though it didn’t take him long to find a new head coaching opportunity. A recent report from Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that he is the new head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers.

There is no doubt that this is a good position for Nick Nurse. He will get to coach Joel Embiid, who is the 2022-23 MVP, and it is clear that Embiid will be the most talented player he’s gotten to coach since Kawhi Leonard. It will be interesting to see if Nick Nurse will be able to get the best out of Joel Embiid, as he didn’t necessarily have a big man as dominant as him during his time in Toronto.
At the end of the day, Nick Nurse is a head coach with a championship pedigree and someone who is well-known for getting the most out of rosters that aren’t as talented as others. Hopefully, he finds more championship success with the Philadelphia 76ers.
