Nick Wright Says Michael Jordan Knows His Reign As The Greatest Is Coming To An End: “Michael Understood Last Night Was The Last Time He Would Be Universally Acknowledged As The GOAT, That’s Why He Extended An Olive Branch To LeBron.”

LeBron James and Michael Jordan drive more conversation in the NBA world than perhaps any other players in the history of the sport. Jordan was key in making the sport truly global and was the undisputed greatest player of all time, and still is, according to a lot of fans. However, LeBron James’ reign of success has made it quite the debate and the King has made a strong case to be considered the greatest to ever do it as well.

There aren’t many who support LeBron’s GOAT case as vehemently as Nick Wright, and he was on hand to speak even more about it following the interaction between MJ and Bron during the ceremony to honor the players on the NBA’s Top 75 list. Wright suggested on the show ‘First Things First’, that Jordan’s display of affection towards LeBron was thanks to the fact that he feels threatened by LeBron in the GOAT debate.

“Michael understood that last night was likely the final major NBA event where he is universally recognized as the GOAT, and that’s why he extended an olive branch to LeBron.

“Michael has gone out of his way to not be helpful, to not be helpful, to not embrace LeBron and to create a wall between them. And because the GOAT walls are crumbling down around him, he is now saying – you know, let’s be pals.”

This analysis seems a bit like Wright is reading too much into the situation, LeBron has always looked up to MJ, so the two getting along is hardly that unexpected. Furthermore, what made Jordan the GOAT was his unshakeable belief that he could be and was the best, so it doesn’t seem like something Michael would admit even if there was overwhelming support for LeBron as the GOAT. This topic will be visited again numerous times in the coming years, but for now, it’s just a pleasure to watch two greats of the game meet and enjoy one another’s company.
