Nikola Jokic’s Smart Response To Patrick Beverley’s ‘Flailing’ Comments

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Clippers-Denver Nuggets series is getting hotter by the day, as players from both teams don’t hide their emotions and go after their rivals whenever they have the chance. Patrick Beverley, true to his style, has been very vocal during the series while his numbers have been very quiet.

After the Clippers 113-107 victory over the Nuggets in Game 3, Bev started talking about Nikola Jokic’s, Nuggets center and best player. The guard compared Jokic to Luka Doncic since they have a similar attitude with the referees.

“He [Jokic] presents the same thing Doncic presents, umm Luka presents. A lot of flailing. He puts a lot of pressure on the referees to make the right call,” Beverley said during the postgame interview.

As to that, Jokic had a clever response but not everybody is sold on that. The Serbian big man claimed he was just trying to show officials that a foul is a foul and that’s it.

“What is a flailing mean? They had 26 free throws, we had 10. I am just showing the ref it is a foul,” Jokic said about Beverley’s remarks.

If you watched the Mavericks-Clippers series, you had to notice that Luka Doncic did look for the refs to call every play he believed was a foul. That earned him a lot of criticism because it wasn’t a thing of just one play. Doncic was whining through whole games just to get the call.

Well, Jokic isn’t having any of that and neither is Beverley. This series is about to reach the next level. Both teams have something to proof and the desire to beat their rivals has gotten bigger now.
