Weeks after his trade from the Los Angeles Lakers, former L.A. point guard Patrick Beverley is ready to take revenge on his former team.
In a move made earlier this week, Beverley joined the Bulls alongside Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic, among others. And now, with two games on the schedule against the Lake Show, Beverley wants his team to be the one to end L.A.’s playoff hopes this season.
“We play the Lakers twice,” said Beverley. ” I want to knock them out the playoffs. We gotta get in the playoffs, so excuse us.”

Unfortunately for Beverley, the Bulls might be in an even worse situation than the Purple and Gold. With Lonzo Ball confirmed to be out for the season, and the Bulls sitting with a 26-33 record, the odds of them making a significant playoff run are extremely thin.
Even still, winning those Lakers games in March could be enough to keep LeBron out of the playoffs this season. At 5 games under .500, the margin for error couldn’t be slimmer for the Lakeshow and Chicago could be the team to kill their postseason hopes.
New-Look Lakers Roster Faces The Ultimate Test
As Clippers guard Russell Westbrook, and now Pat-Bev, look to get revenge on the Lakers, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be working tirelessly to keep their team alive in the playoff race.
After a series of moves to bring in D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Mo Bamba, the team got undeniably better before the deadline. But will it be enough to support a lengthy playoff run?
“I’ve always been confident on any club I’ve been on, that if we can make it to the playoffs, we can compete with anyone,” said LeBron on his new-look squad.
With roughly 20 games left to go for this season, it may already be too late for the Lakers to achieve their goals. And despite the clear upgrade in offensive talent, there are questions about how the Lakers will stack up defensively with D’Lo and Beasley replacing Beverley.
Ultimately, this story will likely stretch to the closing chapters of the season. As the Lakers and Bulls fight to keep their season alive, it’s very possible that their games in March end up deciding their playoff fate.
No matter what happens, Beverley will be ready to give the Lakers everything he’s got after being pinned as one of the scapegoats for their failed season.
