The Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers are widely considered to have a rivalry due to both teams being in the same city. There is no doubt that matches between the two often get heated a competitive.

Clippers star Paul George recently spoke out about the rivalry between the two teams ahead of their upcoming matchup. He noted that both teams get “hyped” for this matchup, even if they don’t admit it.

“Whether we like to admit it or not, we’re both hyped about it…There’s a present-day rivalry, and we definitely get up for those games,” George said.

The Los Angeles Clippers will be without Paul George for their upcoming game against the Los Angeles Lakers, which will make that matchup infinitely more difficult. Still, they will have Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook, which should give them a chance to come out on top.

Paul George was averaging 23.8 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 5.8 APG prior to his knee injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Hopefully, we will see him return sooner rather than later, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Paul George Will Only Be Able To Come Back For The Los Angeles Clippers If They Make The Second Round

Though Paul George avoided a season-ending injury, it may be a while before he is available to play again for the Los Angeles Clippers. A previous report revealed that the Clippers will have to get to the second round for George to have a realistic chance of returning for the team.

“The Clippers believe, I’m told, they’re going to have to get out of the first round for a real window for Paul George to return,” Charania said. “You get out of the first round and you give yourself a chance to get Paul George back.”

With Kawhi Leonard, the Los Angeles Clippers definitely have a chance of getting to the second round if they make the playoffs. However, doing that is easier said than done, as the Western Conference is extremely competitive, and we’ll see where the Los Angeles Clippers end up at the conclusion of the season.

There is no doubt that Paul George will be key for the Clippers if he is able to come back, as they are unable to truly make a deep run without his presence. The key is for him to come back ready to play, and hopefully, that can happen as soon as possible.
