NBA stars tend to become household names and it is safe to say Klay Thompson has become one over the years. Klay has been a part of one of the greatest dynasties in the history of the league but apparently, that wasn’t enough for U.S. President Joe Biden to remember his name.

The Golden State Warriors took part in the traditional White House visit as the champions on Tuesday and the players came out in style for it. It was all going great too until President Biden started to speak on the Warriors rebuilding their team around their Big 3 when he clearly forgot Klay’s name.

“Reimagined the team around the Big 3, Steph (Curry), Draymond (Green), and uh Kay you guys were something incredible. I mean you add it up to 72 feet.”

Would have loved to see Klay’s reaction at that exact moment as he has been a bit on edge in recent times, but he wasn’t in the shot! To be fair, Biden isn’t exactly the biggest sports fan around, so it isn’t too big of a shocker that he didn’t remember the name.

Draymond Green Thinks Stephen Curry Could Someday Run For President

Biden did mention Draymond Green and Stephen Curry at least and Draymond had some high praise for his superstar teammate. He thinks that Curry could someday run for president of the United States as he is smart and doesn’t really make mistakes. Curry has really had no slip-ups for someone who has had the spotlight on him for so long in the social media era, which is quite impressive.

Draymond hilariously went on to add that he’d be Secretary of Defense as no one would want him to be the president. It’s back to business now for the Warriors after these celebrations, as they’re heading to Boston to take on the Celtics for the first time since winning the championship in TD Garden in June 2022.
