LeBron James’ career in the NBA has been nothing sort of a fairytale. But had he retired this summer, it would have been an abrupt end to his career. Fortunately, James announced that he is yet to lose motivation to play the game of basketball and will return to the Los Angeles Lakers roster.

Speaking of motivation to play the game of basketball, LeBron James’ agent Rich Paul recently revealed a unique way of motivating his longtime client. Paul’s technique involves unnecessarily taking a shot at Utah Jazz legend Karl Malone.

“I always tease him that if your athleticism went away, you would just be Karl Malone, and that’s fine,” Paul said in a recent interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio. “You could pick and pop. Shoot the jumper. Make the right read. He can literally play for as long as he wants to.”

LeBron James’ athleticism is arguably one of the greatest assets in his game. But even without it, James is a student of the game. He could be a sensational facilitator and still score at will, just not as explosively as fans have gotten used to it.

How Long Can LeBron James Play In The NBA?

LeBron James has been at the top of the league for two decades. He has achieved everything a player can imagine while playing in the NBA.

But he’s still human and one day, he will have to retire from the NBA. Many have shared their views on when will that day arrive. His agent, Rich Paul, believes James can easily stay active in the league until he’s 44 or 45 years old.

Is that the extent of LeBron’s longevity in the league? Kendrick Perkins believes James can be an NBA player until he turns 50 years old. How? He needs to model his game after Miami Heat legend Udonis Haslem.
