Shaquille O’Neal is one of the best centers to have ever touched a basketball. O’Neal was a force of nature, often capable of scoring on multiple defenders due to his athleticism and physicality. Over the course of his career, Shaquille O’Neal averaged 23.7 PPG, 10.9 RPG, and 2.5 APG.

There is no doubt that Shaquille O’Neal was one of the most dominant players in the league in his prime. Recently, Shaquille O’Neal revealed that he believes he and Wilt Chamberlain were the most dominant players ever, claiming that “there are 20 people” one could consider “the best”, but there are “only two” players that one can say “most dominant” about.

When you say the best, there are 20 people – Dr. J, Magic, Kareem, Bill. It goes on. But when you say most dominant, there’s only two.

Wilt Chamberlain is definitely a good candidate for being a player that can be considered “most dominant”. We all know that he’s shattered many statistical records during his career, including scoring 100 points in a game. Chamberlain is also a two-time NBA champion that has won 7 scoring titles.

While Shaquille O’Neal clearly respects Wilt Chamberlain’s basketball ability, he seems to think that he was a better player overall during his career, as O’Neal previously claimed that he’d “bust Will’s a**” on the court. A hypothetical matchup between the two big men would definitely be fantastic to see, but unfortunately, the only way we can simulate that is via NBA 2K.

There is no doubt that Shaquille O’Neal’s legacy is set in stone. He is a 4-time champion and an MVP who managed to secure a three-peat for the Los Angeles Lakers. Few players’ careers can rival Shaquille O’Neal’s, and it’s extremely difficult to imagine a more dominant player than Shaquille O’Neal in his prime.
