Shaquille O’Neal Puts Kendrick Perkins In His Place After He Called Him Out For Not Watching Games

Shaquille O'Neal found a hilarious way to fire back at Kendrick Perkins after he claimed that the Hall of Famer does not watch games.

Kendrick Perkins recently made the big mistake of calling out Shaquille O’Neal, as he claimed that O’Neal and Charles Barkley don’t watch basketball. Word got to O’Neal and the 52-year-old hilariously fired back at Perkins.

A post shared by DR. SHAQUILLE O’NEAL Ed.D. (@shaq)

O’Neal shared some of the most iconic lowlights of Perkins’ career, which were shown on Shaqtin’ a Fool over the years. He hilariously admitted he doesn’t watch a lot of games, but did watch these ones. That was simply superb from O’Neal and he left NBA fans in splits.

One was left on the floor, “Yo, I’m on the floor.”

A fan said O’Neal is still dunking on fools, “Shaq STILL dunkin’ on fools!”

One said this was some incredible pettiness, “Ayo this is some 50 Cent pettiness level.”

A fan hilariously stated this was a one-shot kill, “Yo, One shot. One kill.”

One roasted Perkins, “LMFAO! He has more highlights on Shaqtin than on ESPN!”

While you might think Perkins would have learned his lesson, he also commented on the post, stating that this meant war. It will be interesting to see what kind of comeback Perkins might have here. I doubt it would be as epic as what O’Neal delivered, though.

What Did Kendrick Perkins Say?

What started all of this, was Barkley and O’Neal not being very high on the New York Knicks. Both felt the Indiana Pacers would beat the Knicks in a playoff series and it led to Perkins calling out Barkley and O’Neal.

“It’s obviously (that) they don’t watch basketball. I’m serious, they can’t watch basketball consistently. The only time they probably watch the Knicks is when they’re covering the Knicks on their game nights… If you’re watching the Knicks, there’s no way in hell you can downplay the way they’ve been playing the game of basketball,” Perkins told Michael Kay.

O’Neal had even said at the start of this month that the Orlando Magic would beat the Knicks. He clearly doesn’t think too highly of them and Perkins believes it’s down to not watching them play.

We are unlikely to see a series involving the Knicks and the Magic in this postseason, as they finished as the second and fifth seed respectively. We could see New York take on Indiana though, as the Pacers are the sixth seed. Should they meet, I think the Knicks would win and Perkins would be proven right as a result.

For me, the only team that the Knicks wouldn’t have much of a chance at beating in the Eastern Conference over a series would be the Boston Celtics. Even with Julius Randle being out, I would give them a good chance against everyone else in the East. While Perkins thinks O’Neal is downplaying how good the Knicks are, they aren’t the team the Hall of Famer seems most down on.

O’Neal stated that the Celtics are the most overrated team in the NBA. He does not seem sold on them despite their excellent 64-18 record this season.

I would be quite surprised if the Celtics end up falling flat on their face in these playoffs. They just seem well clear of the pack in the East and if this group fails to get to the NBA Finals, then some serious questions might have to be asked about the likes of Jayson Tatum.
