When it comes to NBA debates, one of the classic topics among fans is debating about who are the top 10 players of all time. Many people have their own variations on the list, and it is hard to come up with one definitive “correct” list.

Recently, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal had a hilarious take on the top 10 list, pointing out that it is difficult to create a list with only 10 players. He then joked that even though you have to remove players to create the said list, he shouldn’t be removed.

“When it comes to top 10, you got the GOAT (Kobe, LeBron, and Mike), most dominant (Wilt and myself), greatest shooter of all time Steph Curry is in there by itself. Only 10 players is hard. You got to take somebody out but you ain’t gonna take me out!”

There’s no doubt that Shaquille O’Neal should be considered a consensus top 10 player of all time. He three-peated as a No. 1 option on the Los Angeles Lakers and also won another championship with Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat.

Throughout his career, Shaquille O’Neal averaged 23.7 PPG, 10.9 RPG, and 2.5 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers. He is widely considered to be the most physically dominant player ever, and he is clearly one of the most prominent legends of the game.

Richard Jefferson Once Explained Why Shaquille O’Neal Is The Most Dominant Player Ever

Shaquille O’Neal altered the way that the game was played. In fact, Richard Jefferson explained that the reason O’Neal is the most dominant player ever is because he forced teams to stack up on big men.

“They (Shaq’s Lakers) changed how you had to construct your roster,” Jefferson said. “You had to have two or three bigs just for f***ing fouls. Not like good bigs, we just need bigs there, we need big bodies.”

Any player that forces teams to consider them when constructing their rosters should be considered dominant. Shaquille O’Neal was clearly a unique talent, and it will be interesting to see if anyone can match his dominance. Shaquille O’Neal has notably claimed that Giannis Antetokounmpo is the modern version of him, and perhaps the Bucks superstar can reach the same heights in the future.
