LeBron James is one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball, and there is no doubt that he is dominating with the Los Angeles Lakers as of right now. Currently, LeBron James is averaging 29.1 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.7 APG.

The Los Angeles Lakers have went 5-1 over their last 6 games, and that has re-ignited discussions about whether the team should make a win-now trade, especially with LeBron James playing at a high level. In the recent episode of The Fadeaway World Podcast, Lee and Divij debate the merits of making a trade for the Los Angeles Lakers. (7:18)

Lee Tran: One of the key topics that has been a thing recently for the Lakers is whether or not they should make a trade. This recent 5-1 run has really gotten people to think that this is the time to go all-in and make this big win-now trade… I can see the argument for it. A few games earlier I was like “Nah, they should keep the picks unless it’s for a legit star-level player”, but now I can see the argument.

Divij Kulkarni: I would not want to be Rob Pelinka right now… Even though what we’ve said about this roster and how its stepped up in recent weeks is true… It’s hard to tell exactly how long that can carry on especially if Anthony Davis isn’t able to stay healthy for the rest of the year… When it comes to the trade it’s a hard one… the fact that they only have two first-round picks left makes it a massive gamble… They should only make a move if they can find a proper star like Zach LaVine or DeMar DeRozan.

It remains to be seen what sort of action the Los Angeles Lakers end up taking at the trade deadline. Moving the picks is definitely a risk, but LeBron James’ could make the gamble worth it.
