Skip Bayless With Another Controversial Take About LeBron James: “He’s Actually Russell Westbrook Without Kevin Durant In Oklahoma City.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a pretty disappointing 2021-22 NBA season. Forget the playoffs, with the regular season almost over, the Lakers are still struggling to book a spot in the play-in tournament.

Despite all the embarrassing performances that the Purple & Gold have put up this season, arguably the only positive aspect about this season’s Lakers has been the performance of the 37-year-old LeBron James.

James is having one of the best seasons of his career scoring-wise. Unfortunately, despite all his best efforts, the Lakers are simply lacking the necessary swagger to compete against the top teams in the Western Conference.

But we can all agree with the fact that James has been good, right? Well, not everyone seems to think the same. It is none other than a well-known LeBron James hater Skip Bayless, who is back with another controversial take about the 4x NBA champion.

“I think LeBron has realized what a tarnish this is going to be on his legacy. Because to go from favorite to ‘we miss the play-in tournament’ — are you kidding me — and finish, I don’t know, 15, 16 games under .500, that’s the path they’re on right now.

They’re only gonna be favored in one more game, they got 8 left they’re gonna be favored at home against Oklahoma City and that’s it, right? They only have three more home games.

He’s turned into the ultimate solo act. He’s actually Russell Westbrook without KD in Oklahoma City. That’s what he is. He’s just gone total solo.”

No matter what James accomplishes in his career, Bayless never seems to be content with it. This time around he has compared the 4x NBA MVP to the time when Russell Westbrook was left alone in the OKC after Kevin Durant joined the Golden State Warriors.

In layman’s terms, he said that James is stat padding this season instead of focusing on helping the Lakers win games.

With LeBron picking up an injury against the Pelicans in the most recent game of the Lakers, it will become an even harder task for the King to help the Purple & Gold reach the playoffs.

Keeping that in mind, Lakers fans will hope that James’ injury is not that series and he can at least help the team reach the playoffs to prove Bayless wrong.
