With the 2021 NBA regular season officially over, sights have been turned to the playoffs and the annual player awards.

In regards to the MVP, Nikola Jokic is the clear favorite to win — but more and more people have been endorsing Warriors guard Steph Curry.

Most interestingly, however, LeBron James even gave the nod to Steph.

“We’re playing versus, in my opinion, the MVP of our league this year in Steph,” James said. “We got to be prepared for everything they have. They [the Warriors] have championship DNA…”

Curry has gotten the chance to share his thoughts on King James’ endorsement.

“I respect him for it and I appreciate it,” Curry said, via Mark Medina of USA Today. “We all know as competitors, though, when the lights are on, I can talk about how great he is until I’m blue in the face and he can do the same, it doesn’t change how we approach that competition when we’re out there.”

Curry seems appreciative of the kind words from James — and he should be. For a long-time competitor, and All-Time great player to acknowledge you as MVP is a big deal.

At the same time, though, it won’t change what happens on Wednesday. With a playoff appearance on the line, Curry and LeBron will be engaged in a fierce battle, just like old times.

No doubt, it will be a sight to see.
