Stephen Curry Admits He Is Shocked After Will Smith Slapped Chris Rock At The 2022 Oscars

2 Min Read

The world was rocked by the incident that took place at the Oscars last night. After making a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s alopecia, Chris Rock was slapped by an irate Will Smith, who then told Rock to ‘keep my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth’. It was an intense situation between two legends of the entertainment world. And Stephen Curry noted how surprised he was on social media.

Stephen Curry was active on Twitter during the 2022 Oscars. He congratulated the Stanford Women’s Basketball team for their dominant win while making a reference to the slap. After that, he also shared his thoughts about what happened, also quoting actor Denzel Washington’s speech from later in the night to share his thoughts on the incident between Smith and Rock, and the fallout from it in the media.

This was loud!!! Like that slap on that other channel

Like everybody..I’m still in shock about the whole thing- but in all the unnecessary drama, at least we got the line of the night from Denzel…”In your highest moments, be careful, that’s when the devil comes for you!”

Stephen Curry was careful not to take any sides on the matter, as it has been a divisive issue across social media since it occurred. But he did take the time to give props to Denzel Washington for what he said, and perhaps even gave a hint as to how people should be approaching this altercation between Chris Rock and Will Smith.

Curry is currently out with an injury, as the Golden State Warriors hope to finish the season on a high note and put themselves in a good situation going into the playoffs. Curry will be hoping to win the NBA championship this season, their first championship in 4 years.
