Stephen Curry is going to go down in history as a certified Bay Area legend. His 13-year NBA career has led to the most trophy-laden era of the Warriors franchise, even more dominant than when Wilt Chamberlain played for the franchise. Curry has had an enormous impact on the region and is celebrated like an icon, along with his Warriors teammates.

Curry was born in Akron, Ohio, in the same hospital as LeBron James. Curry never ended up calling Cleveland his home, as he moved around as the son of Dell Curry. Steph’s deepest hometown ties come in Charlotte due to his father’s extended stint with the Hornets. The Bay Area is where he has been for the longest time in his life.

Curry was a part of the Oakland Athletics broadcast and passionately spoke about the Warriors and how he is proud to be able to say he is a one-team man and how the place has been special for him to spend his entire career here. He added that he probably will stay in the Bay Area even after retirement and called it his home.

“I just finished my 13th year. To be able to say I’ve played for one team my entire career – I can also say how special this place is. Honestly, I don’t want to leave ever. I want this to be my one and only home. Even thinking about what happens when basketball is done, we’ll still have roots here, we’ll still have a presence here, and we’ll call this home.”

The Curry family looks pretty settled in the Bay Area. Curry gets to enjoy living in California and his children get to have a stable home in one city rather than move around the country like most NBA players have had to do.

Steph has many years left in him, so he can start a whole new chapter of Warriors dominance with the 2022 championship. It’ll be interesting to see how the 2022-23 season shakes out for the Warriors, amidst salary cap concerns and Draymond Green requesting a max contract extension
