As a 9x All-Star, 2x MVP, and 4x champion, Stephen Curry has done almost everything there is to do in the NBA. In truth, he’s one of the most accomplished players in league history and he’s done more in a single career than some entire teams have done over the past two decades.
But when it comes to Steph and his long list of achievements, there is one accolade that is missing from his record: an Olympic gold medal. To date, Curry has yet to suit up for Team USA on the Olympic stage — but as he revealed in a chat with Malika Andrews, that could finally change next year for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
βThatβs the one piece of the resume [Steve Kerr] always likes to joke that I don’t have, so he’s already recruiting for next summer. I’m rooting the guys on in the world cup this year, I know they will represent the USA well and take him gold. I have no idea what next summer looks like and it’s obviously an extra bonus that coach Kerr is leading that charge. I’d love to play for him any day of the week, so we’ll see how it goes come summer 2024.β
Could we see Steph on Team USA next year in the 2024 Olympics? π

This is almost a non-answer from Steph. While he does genuinely seem excited at the prospect of taking home his first Olympic gold medal, he didn’t exactly make any commitments to playing next summer.
At 35 years old, the offseason is an important time for Steph to recharge and prepare for another long NBA season. So even if he wants to play next year, his body might not accept the extra workload.
For now, though, Curry isn’t even thinking along those lines. With a whole season between now and then, Steph is no doubt focused on delivering a successful campaign for the Warriors.
Steph Is Out For Revenge After Failed Playoff Run
Despite being mostly healthy last season, the Dubs had a pretty rough time trying to find consistency. After a wildly up-and-down campaign, they didn’t have enough to beat out the Lakers and it’ll be up to Curry to bounce back and show the world that his team is not quite done yet.
“There’s a lot of pride in what we accomplished but there’s also an understanding that it wasn’t good enough and we have to come back better next year and re-establishing ourselves as a legitimate championship contender because we weren’t this year,” said Curry after their playoff defeat.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Steph, but Team USA (and all basketball fans around the world) will surely be better off if a run in the Olympics becomes a part of his plans.
