- Warriors star goes viral for an inspiring speech at youth basketball camp
- Curry said communication is the key to any successful team
- Steph explains the value of accountability and setting standards
As one of the featured players of this generation, Stephen Curry knows more than a thing or two about how to succeed at the game of basketball. As a 2x MVP, 4x champion, and 9x All-Star, Steph has done almost everything there is to do in the sport and now he’s passing on his wisdom to the next generation.
On Saturday, the Warriors star went viral for his speech at his Steph Curry basketball camp, which centered around the importance of communication as a team.
“Communication, that’s the biggest thing. Honestly, I felt like I was the loudest one on this court right here and that’s a problem. We need everybody to talk, especially if you’re trying to lead a team… people will follow if you talk. Communication is the fabric of the team,” said Steph. “You all have never played with each other. So how are we supposed to get better in this short amount of time if we don’t talk? Take that as a principle: no matter where you end up, make your presence felt on every single court you show up on. Accountability, holding yourself to a higher standard, it’s not going to show up on its own.”

Communication is key in any team sport, and it’s been the bread and butter for the Warriors since their run began years ago. As good as Stephen Curry is, he’s always making use of his time on the court, whether it’s staying on the move or talking to his teammates and it’s good to see him passing those traits on to others.
Curry Is Locked-In On Bounce Back Season With The Warriors
This summer, Curry (35) is looking to take revenge after his Warriors were defeated in the Conference Semi-Finals. And while the Dubs did not get substantially better in the offseason, Steph seems more motivated than ever to bring his team back into the championship mix.
“Guys are going to be asked to do things that may not all the way vibe with how they see themselves,” Curry said on the upcoming season. “The biggest thing is, look at teams that have won. You realize that there is a certain way about how you show up on a nightly basis. Everybody is important. Everybody is valuable. It’s not going to look pretty for the majority of the year for some guys.”
After swapping Jordan Poole for Chris Paul, there’s no question that the Warriors are looking to win more championships but only time will tell if they can pul lit off again.
At the very least, they have Stephen Curry so nobody can count them out completely.
