Stephen Curry has remained one of the best players in the NBA over the last decade or so. The 35-year-old is still a phenomenal player, as he averaged 29.4 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 6.3 APG in the 2022-23 NBA season.
However, there’s no denying the fact that Curry will retire from the league in the near future. Speaking of which, Steph recently revealed his retirement plans in an interview with ‘BackstageOL.’
“Oh, absolutely,” Curry answered about still getting nervous before games. “I feel like that if I don’t get nervous or adrenaline, that’ll be the sign that I need to quit because it won’t matter. The nerves, obviously, just indicate that I want to be successful and it’s meaningful what I’m doing. So I hope to be nervous for many more years to come.”

Stephen Curry has spent 14 seasons in the NBA and has won four titles during his illustrious career. Despite that, Curry doesn’t want to forget the feeling of getting nervous before a game.
As of now, he is yet to reach the point where he doesn’t feel nervous and ultimately quit playing basketball.
When Will Stephen Curry Retire From The NBA?
Stephen Curry is still a sensational player, and considering his playing style, he can stay active in the NBA for several years.
In a 2022 interview with Marc Stein, the Golden State Warriors superstar shared about his initial longevity goals in the league.
“When I got to the league, all I wanted to do was get to 16 years, because that’s what my dad [Dell] played. And now I’m halfway through 14. I’ve talked to a bunch of people who’ve been in similar situations and you start to have different conversations like, ‘At what point did you know it was time to leave?’ Or whatever the case is and then figuring out what that might mean for you.”
Considering Steph’s answer, he still has at least two years left to play in the league. As of now, Curry has three years left on his contract. So, Curry will most likely announce the decision about his future in the NBA in 2026, when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
