Stephen Curry’s Amazing One-Word Reaction To WNBA Star Sabrina Ionescu Destroying His 3-Point Contest Record And Making Basketball History

Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time, even if we count the WNBA, and he has the records to prove it. Curry’s numbers are simply unmatched. Unsurprisingly, he had the highest score in a three-point contest on his list of accomplishments, too, sharing it with Tyrese Haliburton.

However, that record was broken by WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu, who scored an unbelievable 37 points in one round during the three-point shooting contest. And the performance immediately drew a response from Curry, who simply wrote, “Ridiculous.”

RIDICULOUS! @sabrina_i20 https://t.co/djeRmwh3UO

Stephen Curry and Tyrese Haliburton were tied for the most points in a three-point contest before this, both with 31 points. Ionescu shattered that mark with ease, she made twenty three-pointers in a row at one point, including two extremely deep ones worth three points each.

Ionescu missed just two shots out of the 27 that she took, which is just truly spectacular when doing it under pressure. Not only did she break the record, but she did it with ease, enjoying a near-perfect round. It’s no wonder that this whole thing caught the eye of Steph, shooting at that level is simply the most unbelievable thing in the world.

Stephen Curry Will Have To Wait Another Eight Months To Potentially Answer This

The WNBA gets mocked a lot online, with a lot of their superstars’ skills being questioned. But Ionescu has proved that they have players arguably better at certain skills than even the NBA’s greatest. One amazing night doesn’t make someone better than Stephen Curry, but to be mentioned in the same breath as him is a huge achievement. And surely Steph will want to answer this at some point.

The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will be hosted by the Pacers in Indiana on February 18th, which means Curry will have to wait around eight months to potentially take back his record. But even for the GOAT shooter, it won’t be easy to hit a near-perfect round like Ionescu did, nobody in the game’s history has even come close to that.

Sabrina Ionescu is a two-time WNBA All-Star and, at 25, looks like the next great player in the league. She will want to hold on to this record, and she has made it nearly unbreakable with her performance. Her exploits have shown that anyone who questions the level of basketball in the women’s game and tries to mock it doesn’t know much of what they are talking about.
