Superstars Who Could Help Brooklyn Nets Win The 2021 NBA Championship

The Brooklyn Nets keep making big moves this season. After trading for James Harden in January and signing Blake Griffin a couple of days ago, they have gotten LaMarcus Aldridge in the buyout market. This team looks incredibly good for the association and people are already making big comparisons between them and fictional teams that would be unfair to see in the NBA right now.

As stated before in Fadeaway World, Aldridge shocked the league if he signed with the Nets. The 35-year-old veteran is headed to New York after spending the last six years with the San Antonio Spurs, where he wasn’t as successful as expected. NBA fans went crazy after he decided to join the already powerful Nets but that’s not the only star they could land.

It seems like they could still get some big names to confirm their condition as favorites to win the 2021 NBA championship. In fact, the Nets are so powerful right now and have so much clout that they could get any star they want. With that said, let’s take a look at five superstars the Nets could sign to win the title this season. Kevin Durant has had a lot of help in the past six years and he could get more. Be ready for this ride; these are 7 superstars that can help the Nets win the title this year. Enes Kanter said they could get Jesus or Thanos now, but we will be more down-to-earth with our candidates.

Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic is trying to lead his Dallas Mavericks to the postseason in his third year in the league. Although he has struggled to make his team a competitive one, things are getting better for him right now. Yet, joining the Nets would make things a lot easier for the Slovenian point guard. Sure, they have James Harden as their playmaker but you never know when the Beard will go down with an injury. Doncic could well replace him or Kyrie Irving depending on the needs of the team.

Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard is another player that could bring a lot of benefits to the Nets. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar has been urged to leave his team and try his luck elsewhere but he’s vowed loyalty to the Blazers. However, this Nets team appears to know some magic tricks since they can land whichever superstar they want and Lillard could be a great addition to them. We’ve seen crazier things before and this one would be a huge deal for Brooklyn.

Joel Embiid

The 2021 MVP candidate is part of the Philadelphia 76ers right now but the Nets could lure him away if he agrees to a buyout with the team. JoJo is unstoppable when healthy and this could be the last piece they need to be considered the clear favorite to win the NBA championship, the greatest team ever assembled in the NBA and at this point, the defenders of the earth.

Bradley Beal

These two next candidates could find their way to Brooklyn easier than the others. Bradley Beal is part of the struggling Washington Wizards and even though the team has gotten a little better, the shooting guard remains linked to trade rumors. He could work in a buyout with the capital team and have a clear path to sign with the Nets or they could wait until next season and even send Sean Marks, Mike D’Antoni, and Steve Nash to D.C. in exchange for Beal.

Russell Westbrook

Here we have another Wizards player. Russell Westbrook has struggled to find his touch in the league in the last two seasons and perhaps a reunion with Kevin Durant and James Harden is what he needs to recover his best version. Brodie can still do good things and the Nets could use him as the leader of the second unit. At this point, everybody is making sacrifices to land in Brooklyn and Russ wouldn’t be the exception.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

(via New York Post)

Giannis Antetokounmpo just signed a contract extension in the offseason with the Milwaukee Bucks but who cares, this is the Nets and everybody wants to play for them. They would lure Giannis to end his contract with the team even if they have to sell the Barclays Center to send some compensation to the Bucks. Giannis would take this team to the next level and it would be great to watch him playing alongside James Harden, squashing their beef and winning championships together.

Nikola Jokic

Oh, hey, here comes the Joker. This big man can play well wherever he goes and the Nets wouldn’t be the exception. The Denver Nuggets are playing well this season but there’s no doubt that the Nets’ level would go through the roof, would build another house, and break that new roof, too, if they land Jokic. This is one of the best players in the league and just imagine Harden, Irving, Durant, Griffin/Aldridge, and Jokic together. A lot of fun on and off the court.

Bonus: Michael Jordan

Seeing how talented this team is to attract big players, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Charlotte Hornets owner steps down as the team’s chairman and goes to Brooklyn to make a run with the Nets. Imagine MJ going at it with LeBron James in the NBA Finals, that would be madness and only the Nets can achieve that.
