Teyana Taylor has fired back at her estranged husband, Iman Shumpert, in an ongoing court battle, accusing him of irresponsible behavior, including smoking marijuana and being under the influence while caring for their two daughters, Junie and Rue.

According to court documents, Taylor claimed that Shumpert’s response to her divorce petition contained “blatantly and knowingly false statements. Taylor, in her new motion, countered Shumpert’s claims, stating that his conduct, including smoking marijuana and being under the influence while caring for the children, is well-publicized.

In her initial divorce filing in January 2023, Taylor accused Shumpert of being an incredibly jealous partner who frequently picked fights. She sought primary custody of their daughters, alleging that they appeared disheveled and were not properly fed while in Shumpert’s care. Taylor further claimed that Shumpert was not attentive to the children’s needs and displayed a “reckless disregard for their safety and well-being.”

The petition also asserted that Shumpert asked for significant time with the children but would often leave them with his parents or others, showing a lack of genuine interest in parenting. Taylor accused Shumpert of being irresponsible with the girls, especially when angry.

Additionally, Taylor claimed that Shumpert moved out of their marital home, leaving her and the children in a residence under construction for the past three years due to Shumpert’s failure to contribute to the agreed-upon renovations.

Months after filing for divorce, Taylor and Shumpert attempted reconciliation through marriage counseling. However, the reconciliation efforts failed, leading to a resumption of the divorce proceedings.

In response to the divorce, Shumpert denied that it was in the best interest of the children to live primarily with their mother. He also denied being irresponsible with the children and moved into a separate home, claiming it as his sole property. The divorce battle between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert remains ongoing.

Teyana Taylor Accused Iman Shumpert Of Being A Narcissist

Teyana Taylor had leveled serious accusations against her estranged husband, Iman Shumpert, as their tumultuous divorce proceedings unfolded. The allegations, as reported by TMZ, paint a picture of a troubled marriage marked by emotional abuse, jealousy, and infidelity.

According to court documents, Taylor accuses Shumpert of being a jealous emotional abuser who struggled with insecurity regarding her rising fame. Despite Shumpert’s successful NBA career and financial success, Taylor claims that he harbored resentment and exhibited insecurity when photographers requested solo pictures of her at public events.

The singer further alleges that she received “condescending and manipulative” messages from Shumpert regarding her career, prompting her to intentionally downplay her success to maintain marital harmony. Despite her efforts, Taylor asserts that Shumpert remained discontented.

The accusations extend to Shumpert’s behavior during the decline of his basketball career. Taylor claims that she attempted to help him transition to acting, but he showed no interest. Despite a brief reconciliation, Shumpert’s lingering insecurities contributed to Taylor filing for divorce in 2021.

The court documents detail claims of emotional and mental abuse, controlling behavior, and multiple instances of infidelity during their seven-year marriage. Taylor describes living in an “extremely” abusive environment but attempting to salvage the relationship.

As part of the divorce proceedings, Taylor seeks full custody of their two children, citing Shumpert’s inconsistency in involvement since leaving their family home in October. The revelations provide insight into the challenges faced by the high-profile couple as they grappled with fame, career transitions, and personal insecurities within the confines of their marriage.
