The Brooklyn Nets officially finished their Big 3 era that started with so much promise late on Wednesday night. News broke that the team had traded Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for a massive haul including Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and 4 first-round picks, as well as other fillers. 

This came just days after they had traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks, and one year after they dealt James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers. The trio of superstars, respected to canter to a championship, barely played a few games together and failed to achieve more than a series win in the first round.

How Do Things Look For The Brooklyn Nets’ Future?

This is a massive haul of players and picks that the Nets managed to get for themselves. If Ben Simmons had any superstar potential left, it would even be a massively good return for the caliber of players they lost. But considering that they had three of the greatest players of this generation, even this haul doesn’t feel like it’s good enough. 

If they can keep a lot of these players like Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Mikal Bridges, and Cam Johnson, though, they could turn their slew of picks into other stars and challenge for the championship at some point again.
