The Los Angeles Lakers have had a lot of tough injury luck this season, which is part of why they are currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference. There is no doubt that it is tough to win games when stars aren’t available, but the Lakers might have to do so in the coming weeks.

It was reported that LeBron James would be out for at least two or three weeks, but a recent update seems to be even grimmer. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Lakers are preparing for the possibility of LeBron James being out for the rest of the season.

“The Lakers right now, they’re preparing for the possibility that they’ll have to make their postseason run without LeBron James for the rest of the regular season,” said Wojnarowski.

There is no doubt that this is a concerning update, and hopefully, we see LeBron James come back fully healthy in time for the postseason. There is no doubt that there is now more pressure on the other players, such as Anthony Davis, to perform and keep the team afloat.

LeBron James has averaged 29.5 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 6.9 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. Though the star has been injured, it was recently revealed that he avoided surgery, which is obviously good news. The Lakers need him to be available for a deep postseason run, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Anthony Davis Wants LeBron James To Take His Time Coming Back From Injury

The goal right now for the Los Angeles Lakers is to simply make the playoffs and give LeBron James the time to recover from his injury and be fresh for the postseason. Recently, Anthony Davis claimed that he wants LeBron James to not rush back and take time to get “completely right.”

“What I don’t want is him to rush back really early and it’s still bothering him,” Davis said. “And now he can’t be himself… I want him to get completely right and healthy before he steps on the floor. It’s on us other guys in the locker room to step up and continue to win basketball games.”

The Lakers definitely have a solid amount of talent that can help them win games right now. Offensive players such as D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley could potentially take on some of the scoring load, and the Lakers are still a solid team, even without LeBron James.

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers make the playoffs this year. Though they may be without LeBron James for the rest of the regular season, they could potentially surprise everyone and make the playoffs via the play-in tournament.
