Bradley Beal spent 11 seasons with the Washington Wizards after being drafted by the team as the third overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. But he has been traded to the Phoenix Suns in a package around Chris Paul.

Speaking of Paul, he may not even don a Wizards jersey, as the organization is looking for a third team to be included in the Beal trade. But in case CP3 becomes a member of the Wizards, he will become the third point guard after John Wall and Russell Westbrook to play for the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Washington Wizards.

John Wall was drafted by the Wizards using the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. After playing nine seasons for the Wizards, he was traded to the Rockets alongside a future pick in 2020 in exchange for Russell Westbrook. Unfortunately, Wall’s run with the Rockets didn’t go as planned, as he played in the 2020-21 season and sat out the 2021-22 campaign.

Wall was then waived by the Rockets in 2022. He was signed by the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2022-23 NBA season but played just 34 games before getting traded back to the Rockets and then getting waived again.

Russell Westbrook was traded to the Houston Rockets in 2019 for Chris Paul, two pick swaps, and two future first-round picks. Westbrook played just one season for the Rockets before getting traded to the Wizards. The Wizards sent John Wall and a future pick to the Rockets. Westbrook once again played just one season for the Wizards before getting traded to the Lakers in 2021 for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and three draft picks.

Westbrook was ultimately traded by the Lakers after one-and-a-half seasons to the Jazz for Mike Conley, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Malik Beasley in a three-team trade. But within a week, Brodie completed a buyout with the team and joined the Clippers for 21 games. He is currently an unrestricted free agent and is expected to sign a new deal with the team this summer.

As for Chris Paul, he played six seasons for the Clippers from 2011 to 2017. CP3 was then traded to the Rockets for Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker, Montrezl Harrell, Darrun Hillard, DeAndre Liggins, Kyle Wiltjer, and a 2018 first-round draft pick. Paul played two seasons for the Rockets, but he started to show signs of slowing down.

Keeping that in mind, the Rockets dealt him to the Thunder in exchange for a trade package around Russell Westbrook. Paul’s trade value rose in one year when he played for OKC. The Thunder then traded Paul to the Suns in 2020 for Ricky Rubio, Kelly Oubre, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque, and a 2022 first-round pick. CP3 featured in three seasons for the Suns and was most recently traded to the Wizards in exchange for Bradley Beal. The Suns also sent Landry Shamet, multiple second-round picks, and pick swaps.

Will Chris Paul Play For The Washington Wizards?

Chris Paul, 38, is coming off a regular season where he averaged 13.9 PPG, 4.3 RPG, and 8.9 APG for the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns may have sent him to the Wizards, but there’s very little chance that he actually plays for them. After all, the Wizards are expected to undergo a full rebuild, and CP3 simply doesn’t align with their plans. Keeping that in mind, the Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly expected to try and trade for the veteran point guard.

That’s not the end of it. The Lakers are also in the mix to trade for Paul ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.

All things considered, Chris Paul will most likely get traded to another team if he reaches a buyout with the Wizards. It’s only a matter of which team he will choose to possibly start the last chapter of his NBA career.
